Relaxin'!

This last week was one of relaxing. I didn't do a whole lot of anything, really. I worked some on my scrapbook, hung out with my family, went job hunting, ect. It's been nice to do whatever I want, even if it's nothing. I do need a job though, and it will be nice to get one at some point.

Yesterday for Mother's Day, we went to Treetops for a Mother's Day Brunch. It was sooooooooooooooo good. They have so much food, it's impossible to decide what you actually want. I ate way too much. But it was pretty dang good. Especially the Desserts. Tonight I think my Dad and I are taking Grandma Kay out to dinner to celebrate Mother's Day.

Other than that... I don't really have anything going on. I'm boring these days. And I like that. :D

I'm Home!

Well, I've been home since Sunday. I haven't really done much. Yesterday and today I spent filling out and turning back in job applications. Turns out, no one is hiring. I feel like i've applied EVERYWHERE.
Places So Far I have Submitted An Application or Left My Name:
Bath and Body Works
Home Depot
Alpine Oven
Ben Franklin
Lowe's
Spud Warehouse
Diana's Delights
Oliver's Trendz
The Library (yep, I even asked if the Library needed me at all this summer.)
Gobbler's

Places I have An Application to Return:
Arlene's Diner
Dress Barn
Fashion Bug
Starbucks
Bigby's Coffee

Places I Could Still Apply At:
Kohl's
Old Navy
Walmart
Glen's
SaveALot

It's a little depressing being told everywhere I go that they aren't hiring. :( I just need a job. At this point I'm even considering working at a grocery store.

Other than job hunting, I've been scrapbooking and working on wedding stuff. Tomorrow i'm going to go check on the caterer and pick up an invitation book so I can order invitations by the end of the week. I need to get Brad going on picking a tux and starting on getting the guys measured so I can order the tuxes. We're planning on going downstate Memorial Day weekend to shop for wedding attire for my parents and brother as well as flowers. We need to get going on getting the flower's arranged and made. Yay wedding details!

I am Finished!

As of yesterday afternoon, I am finished with the Spring 2008 semester. It was a glorious occasion. I did well on my last final, and I'm sure I did fine on the paper I had to turn in. For the rest of the day, I just sort of sat around and did whatever. I started packing and organizing. I started going through my desk and throwing away papers I thought would be important but turned out to be just taking up space. I also packed up the books in my book shelves. Today I'm going to start working on my junk closet... I have a lot of stuff in there that I'm sure I'll just throw away. :-P I'm hoping the Wolfgangs can put my saxophone and a small tub of mine in their stuff for when they come back. I'll have to wait a while for it, but that's ok... At least I could get it to Gaylord without paying the airlines a bajillion dollars for an extra checked bag.
Today the girl's and I are going to go to Shreveport to go shopping. I'm probably not going to buy anything, unless I come by a great deal. Haha. I don't really have a ton of money to just spend today, but that's ok. It will be a fun afternoon of shopping with my friends before we all leave for the summer. The semester went by so fast, I can hardly believe it's time to go home already!
God Bless!

One Test Down...

and one project down too! All I have left is my Apologetics exam and my Youth Ministry paper. :0) Half-way done with my finals! It's a good feeling knowing that I've completed exactly half of my degree. It makes me feel accomplished.

Today I'm just working on my paper and studying. So it's going to be a pretty relaxed day. I might go to walmart this evening so I can pick up some more tubs to put my stuff in so it can be stored. Finals week is always good, because all you have to do is study/work on papers. None of it is completely stressful.

When I get home going to go job hunting. Frank doesn't seem to be calling me back and he keeps putting me off, so I think i'm just going to look for another job. I'm hoping Alpine Oven will hire me, because that would be a good job to have. I'm also going to check with Isabella's and see if they need any summer helpers. I'll probably end up applying everywhere though. I really need a job!

That's about all that is going on with me... so i'm going to wrap this up. God Bless!

Skillet Concert and Last Day!

Basically, the Skillet concert was amazing. They always put on a great show, highly entertaining. :0) It's funny how Skillet brings out a ton of different people. We had parents, college kids, high school kids, middle schoolers, families... It's always interesting to me to see who comes out to these things.

Today was also the last day of classes. Whew. That means only finals and then I'm out of here! I have to get my stuff packed up and such, but that's all. :D Brad and I have only one more pre-wedding counseling session on Sunday night.

Well, I have to get going, this entry was short and sweet!

Yay Thursday!

Today is the last Thursday of regular classes. Awesome. :0) I'll be officially done with Personality Theory today, minus the final. It's such a good feeling being done with classes and ready to take the finals. Tonight, since classes are winding down, I don't really have a whole lot to do. I'm going to a Skillet concert on campus, which I'm very excited about. Skillet is only the best.

This weekend will be all about studying for finals. I have one on Monday, a project due Tuesday, and a project due and a test on Wednesday. And then I'm done. I have a pretty good finals schedule this year. I don't really have a whole lot to study for. I'll be able to invest most of my time studying for physics, which is needed. I think I get most of it, but it's remembering what we did in February that's going to be difficult.

I called Tim Freeman last night to talk to him about speaking at youth group when I get home. I'm pretty excited to be able to speak at a youth group. Since I left for school, I haven't really had many opportunities to actually speak to youth. It will be good practice for me. He still hasn't called me back, but he's a busy guy. Perhaps he will later today.

I'm going to post the lyrics of a worship song that I've found to be especially meaningful. We sing it in Chapel a lot, and I really like it. :0)

"Inside Out" By Hillsong:
A thousand times I've failed
Still your mercy remains
And should I stumble again
Still I'm caught in your grace

Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame
In my heart, in my soul, Lord I give you control
Consume me from the inside out Lord
Let justice and praise become my embrace
To love You from the inside out

Your will above all else, my purpose remains
The art of losing myself in bringing you praise

Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame
In my heart, in my soul, Lord I give you control
Consume me from the inside out Lord
Let justice and praise become my embrace
To love You from the inside out

Chorus 2x
Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame
And the cry of my heart is to bring You praise
From the inside out Lord, my soul cries out

And we're off!

The last week of classes is off and running! Today was my big framework presentation, and it went really well. I asked Dr. Mays what I got on it, and i got 95. I can't complain about that too much. :0) I also had a cornerstones reception where they thanked all of the metors and PAs. I got a fancy pen that says "Peer Advisor 2007-2008".

Now I'm just studying for my lab final and then taking it easy. The lab final shouldn't be too difficult. Apparently all he does is compile all of our quiz questions and we have to answer them again. I'm not too worried about it. The rest of the week is pretty easy. I do have another test on Thursday in Personality Theory, but its only over three chapters.

I also have a few other social things i have to attend. Tomorrow night is an Israel Fellowship. He's passing out funny little awards and announcing the winners of the photo contest we had. Thursday night i'm going to a Skillet concert. They're playing in the Belcher center. I'm super excited about it. I LOVE Skillet! :0D Friday and Saturday are supposed to be the PA get away days...but unfortunately I'm not going. My hardest final is on Monday (physics) and I can't afford to lose Saturday. I have other projects I need to work on too. So I'm not going to go to it. Hopefully everyone understands.

Dad bought my ticket home last night! That's super exciting because that means i'm flying home soon! I have to figure out packing up all my stuff and storing it. Brad and I are storing most of our stuff over the summer just to make things easier. There's no point in me bringing a bunch of crap home when I don't even need it for the summer. Especially when we'll just have to move it all back early august anyway.

The Shower the girls threw me was a lot of fun. We played the standard Bridal Shower games at food and opened presents. It was pretty fun. :-)

Dr. Batts handed back our Tracts that we all made, and he did not like mine. I got a 67. I went and talked to him about it because I felt it was worth more points than that, but he wouldn't budge. Oh well. Not many people did well on it. I just think he graded them weird. *shrugs* No skin off my back.

Well I should get back to studying... I would hate to fail my lab final!
